2020
Maxine Carlisle is an emerging independent artist based in Sydney and founding member of Sydney Experimental Arts Ensemble. She is a key collaborator on their upcoming work Bat Lake.

An undergraduate student, she is studying at the University of Sydney and majoring in English Literature and Digital Cultures. Recently, Maxine has completed a study abroad program at the University of Vienna.
She is a practicing life drawing model and in the stages of completing her first novel How They Called You Home which delves into the symmetries between trauma and physical involvement in daily tasks.
2019
Max premiered her solo work Chimera in SubKulture Vulture at the Nest Creative Space and performed in QVB AFTER DARK in interactive works directed by multidisciplinary artist I Am Offerings.

She performed in SXAE's full-length work Old Life/ Dead Life at the Old 505 Theatre as a part of the theatre’s FreshWorks Program.
2018
She performed in SXAE's short work DETKA at the Contemporary Choreographers Competition (NIDA Theatres) hosted by Loredo Malcolm and Vi Lam. The work received 3rd prize and a scholarship for further development.

She took part in SXAE's DAIR residencies (Ausdance NSW) toward the development of Old Life/ Dead Life.
2017
She collaborated with Missy Gilbert on her music video In our dreams.
2016
She graduated from Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year Program receiving a Certificate IV in Dance Performance. She performed works by Thomas Bradley, Kristina Chan and Rafael Bonachela in the PPY16 Revealed performance season at Carriageworks.
